Welcome to the 2026 Summer Permit Sale

A lot has changed regarding permit sales for Summer 2026; please take a few minutes to review these important updates regarding permit issuance and parking rules for the 2026 Summer term.

2026 SUMMER PERMIT - FAQs

Q: I’ve never used Offstreet – do I need to print my permit or display anything?
A: No; USC Transportation no longer uses physical permits. Your vehicle’s license plate grants
you permission to park in your chosen structure during normal business hours. As such, it’s
incredibly important to make sure the license plate number and state listed on your permit match
your vehicle exactly. Incorrectly entered or unregistered license plates may result in a parking
citation, even if you have purchased a permit.

Q: Which spaces can I park in?

A. While you are limited to a single parking structure this summer (similar to Fall and Spring
terms), you can park in any unmarked space within the structure. Never park in any area
designated as special by signage or stenciling, such as Carpool, Reserved, ADA, EV, Hotel Guest
Only, etc., unless you have prior authorization from USC Transportation or a valid permit for
those specific areas.

Q: Is my permit valid in multiple locations?

A: Generally, no; vehicles may only use their assigned structure during normal working
hours (9:00am-5:00pm, M-F). For complete details on where and when permits are valid
in alternate locations after hours or on weekends, please refer to our “Where Can I
Park?” guide, located on this page: https://transnet.usc.edu/index.php/rules-regulations-citations/

Q: I mistakenly purchased the wrong summer permit. What do I do?

A: If you have mistakenly purchased the wrong permit (e.g., incorrect structure, dates, or
campus), please submit a permit cancellation request promptly at
https://transnet.usc.edu/index.php/permit-cancellation/. Don’t forget to go back into the system
and purchase the correct permit you want! Please contact our office at
usc.transportation@usc.edu if you need additional assistance.

Q: How can I purchase a permit for less than 2 weeks?

A: Summer 2026 permits for periods shorter than two weeks are not currently available. Please
contact our office at usc.transportation@usc.edu if you need additional assistance or
recommendations.

Q: I am part of a program that requires my parking charges to be reflected on my student account for reimbursement. How can I request the charges to be transferred?

A: Please visit a USC Transportation office during normal business hours (UPC: McCarthy
Structure, 8:30am-3:00pm, M-F; HSC: KAM-120, 7:30am-4:00pm, M-F) or contact us via email
at usc.transportation@usc.edu for assistance with this (and any other) special request.

Q:  Why am I receiving an error code when trying to purchase my permit?

A: Please review the system-generated error message to determine the exact issue. Some
troubleshooting steps include reviewing the product location and duration to ensure they meet
the approved standards, refreshing your browser, and attempting the purchase again. Be sure youare selecting the correct summer permit for the desired duration. If the issue or error message
continues, please contact us via email at usc.transportation@usc.edu for assistance.

Q: How do I request an email confirmation or receipt?

A: Upon completion of your purchase, you will have the option to enter your email address for a
receipt/confirmation. If you need a receipt after closing your browser, please contact us via email
at usc.transportation@usc.edu for assistance. Be sure to have your vehicle license plate number
or student ID available to help expedite the process.

Q: I need to register a rental vehicle. What do I do?

A: If you need to make any adjustments to the vehicle initially registered under your permit, be
sure to have your vehicle license plate number or confirmation number readily available, and
contact us via email at usc.transportation@usc.edu for assistance.

Q: If I update my vehicle on my USC Transportation Portal, will it update under my permit?

A: No, as mentioned, the portal is being deactivated in anticipation of changing to our new
vendor over the summer. Please contact us via email at usc.transportation@usc.edu for assistance
or if you need to update the vehicle associated with your permit.

Q: Can I choose to exclude certain days under my permit?

A: Unfortunately, all Summer 2026 permits must be issued for a minimum of two consecutive
weeks, in either or both sessions.
